I’m Doreen Khamala — a Kenyan author, book coach, and marketing professional based in Nairobi. By day I build brands; by night I write adult fiction and prose poetry that lives in the uncomfortable, honest spaces of modern life: love that consumes, intimacy that heals, and the quiet weight of becoming who you are meant to be.

My five books sit somewhere between a mirror and a confession — realistic enough to feel lived, emotional enough to leave a mark.

When I’m not writing, I’m coaching emerging writers through the Novel Nook Program, convening literary spaces for Kenyan authors, and championing stories that deserve to be told. And somewhere between all of that, I’m building brands and using the same instinct that shapes my fiction to understand what truly connects with people.
